best of luck to gaston on this one - it will be fun as a song. i'll admit: the first time through, i thought you might be copping out a little, but it's SO crucial, especially in 'paterson,' to think out all the ramifications of those four words - statement of innocence, expression of remorse, call for evaluation, a move to completion...it's so, so loaded - and just maybe this is the best way to get at it. i'm for it.

i'm also for the stilts joke - shall we call that one of the "inside" variety? perhaps not - but one would have to be a close reader...

alright, carry onward, my wayward son.

I like it lots with it's e.e.cummingseque aproach.

It is almost modal.

Gaston ought not worry about this one; I've worked something very simple up. It came backwards this time.

Also, to get the spacing right, apparently I chose the wrong color for my underscores--it looked good late last night, now there's a little line visible...

I think I would call this minimalist poetry. Would you call it that? Is there such a thing as minimalist poetry?
